Mikejoe Photography

Today turned out to be a pretty great day!

I got together with some friends, in the VW community, and shot acouple pretty awesome Dubs.

So with out further adue, heres some pics, Enjoi!

March eh?! Awesome! That means the sun will be up longer, it's going to get warmer out. Shooting during the week will possible again!!

So, new stuff? lets see...

I got together with my buddy Pat last weekend and played around with my lights...

Also played around with some 'high speed photography'... I dont have an audio or optical trigger, so I was just working on my timing! haha.

My old boss went and bought a 'powered parachute'. Really awesome!! I was out on lake simcoe with him and his wife and snapped abunch of pics.

Today, I went out and bought another Receiver for my wireless flash triggers and a shoot through umbrella!! Im super excited to do shoots now with my lights and Vagabond. COME ON WARM WEATHER!!!!

Soooooo, my Uncle was unable to recover my photos from my hard drive. It's back in ontario now, I have yet to pick it up from my cousin, along with my new External...

On a lighter note though, I finally picked up a Vagabond II (little battery pack to power my strobes anywhere). The weather has been crappy since I got, so I haven't really had a chance to play with it. I did, however, do a little test shoot with a co-worker and his honda civic on friday night.

Im super happy with the pack and really excited to get out in the field, literally, and shoot some wicked photos. I just hope the weather will cooperate soon.

Since I last entered a post on here, quite abit of stuff has happened!

First off, I last left off talking about some portrait work I was going to be doing with my friend Cass. Well here some photos from that night. Shes an amazing Make up artist and really knows her stuff. I'm lucky to have her as one of my closest friends.

On January 26 2010, I got together with my buddies, Mike and Eric.

Mike wanted to do some Product shots of some stuff he's been crafting.

So I set up a little lightbox and started snapping.

After we did those, we decided to resort back to our childhood ways and had a good ol' Sawdust fight!

I took a drive out to Hamilton, Ontario to find some of the hundreds of waterfalls, Hamilton is well known for... I found one!

For my Birthday, My parent flew me out to Calgary. I went to see some family, my girlfriend and of course, the beautiful scenery!

I spent 5 days there. I only came back with one day worth of photos. My external Harddrive took a spill and hit the ground running... literally. So I dont have any of the photos from friday to sunday... or any photos from the past year of shooting.

Technically I do, only because most are on Flickr.

My uncle is currently trying to recover the drive, If he can't get it to work, I will probably have to seek out a pro...and spend the money. I was asked, is it worth it? I thought about it. Yes! it is worth it!

On the monday, my Girl friend and I went out to Drumheller, Alberta...

WOW! I instantly fell in love.









I hope I can get my photos back. Theres 3 days of picture I want to go through!

Might as well update this Blog.

Not much has been going on as far as photo taking goes for the past little while.

Back in November of '09, I purchased a Ring Flash.


I havent played with it much though. I got really busy at work. I detail sold cars at a VW dealership, it's paying for my gear. ;)

Fast forward to now. With a borrowed Strobe and my ring flash, I put some boredom to use and made my self a quick light box to play with some product photography. I didnt have actual products to shoot, just random stuff I could find. Heres acouple of the shots..







I also dabbed into some self portrait stuff.


Speaking of Portraits, I'm going to be shooting with acouple friends, one of them being an amazing makeup artist, Cass.
